Creating Plant Areas

Plant areas are the physical locations where inspections are conducted and storage is assigned.

1. From the SmartSolve Portal Page, click the Home tab.
2. In the Setup and Policy section, click Setup.
3. In the Process section, click Plant Area.
   Result: The Plant Areas window is displayed.
4. Click Action > Add.
   Result: The Plant Area entry window is displayed.

5. Enter information in the following fields.

Field	Description
Code*	Enter a code for the plant area.
Name*	Enter a name for the plant area.
New Location	Enter the new inventory location where the parts will be moved to once the inspection result is PASS or when the disposition has been completed. For example, once the inspection is passed, an ACCEPT (new status) transaction record is sent back to ERP with new location = STOCK and status = ACCEPT.
New Status	Enter the new status of the part based on the inspection (ACCEPT) or disposition (USE-AS-IS, SKIP, REWORK, RETURN, SCRAP).

6. Click the Save button.
   Result: The new plant area has been added to the system.
